Geometry {and a FREEBIE}

Happy New Year friends!  My winter break went by wayyyy too fast which is probably how most of you feel as well.  Today was our first day back and boy was it a quiet one.  My kiddos were all half asleep.  I would ask them a question and all I'd get was crickets.  I probably shouldn't be complaining because I'm sure they'll be wide awake tomorrow!  To get back into the swing of things, we will move into Geometry in math next week.  Specifically we will work on identifying and describing 2D Shapes (and cubes) as well as partitioning.  I put together a set of 10 math games, centers and activities to help us practice the 2nd grade grade Geometry standards.  You can check it out below by clicking on one of the pictures below!

I am particularly excited about a game I made in this packet that is played like the VERY popular Headbandz.  Anyone else play that during recess/fun friday??  My kids will tackle each other to play it, So, I suddenly had an idea to make a Headbandz style game but with shapes!  My kids saw me making the Headbandz with sentence strips today and asked about 20 times what I was doing.  So, I know this will be a hit next week.  It makes me so excited when they are excited about school so I wanted to share this with other classrooms in hopes that your kids will love it as much as mine.  You can grab the game, What's my Shape? for FREE on TPT by clicking on the picture below!

    1. Did you know you have word verification turned on? Where people have to type that "I'm not a robot" code in the comment box? It's just a setting you can turn off if you want. We had it turned on and had no idea! I just did a post about it today if you want to stop by our blog. :O)

  2. Hi Amanda, Thanks for letting me know. I have actually heard from a lot of bloggers that they have been getting a TON of spam comments lately, so I am going to leave it on just in case. I think one teacher said she had over 1,000 comments that were spam she had to delete!! But, thanks for letting me know and for visiting the blog!! : )

    1. Ohhhhhh! Yeah, one blogger just told me to make sure I only have registered user checked on who can comment to avoid spam. We are new to blogging so I had no idea that spam could come through that way! Craziness!!
