Test Taking Strategies

We are officially in the home stretch of instruction before our kiddos get ready to take the big, bad end-of-grade test in May.  Since I work with 3rd and 4th graders this year I have been practicing test taking strategies with them every time we complete a close read or work on a reading selection.  Some of the strategies sink it pretty well and others not so much.  So, I put together some bookmarks to use as a visual reminder. My thinking is if they hear me say it over and over, practice it agin and again AND see it the chances of remembering to use it on the test are higher.  There are many different test taking strategies out there, these are primarily the ones I focus on for my reading kiddos. This pack has 6 different test taking strategies that are my favorite ones to teach and the ones I feel are the biggest help. The strategies were created for and work best with a multiple choice reading test. Oh and they are available for FREE!  Just click on either picture below to download them from TPT.

If you're also looking for other test taking strategy resources, I know I have shared these several times before but I also have these two FREEBIES up on TPT too.  These include similar but different test taking strategies using the RUNNERS acronym.

As we get into April, I also plan on incorporating some of these activities to motivate my kiddos and hopefully boost their confidence the closer we get to test time.  This pack has some unique activities that focus directly around test prep and also includes some different test taking strategies.
